Manwarren Habitats was founded in 1981 with a single conviction: that artificial habitat elements, done right, should be indistinguishable from the real thing. Not as a shortcut — but as a craft.
More than four decades later, that conviction still drives everything we do. We work closely with designers, architects, engineers, curators, and private clients to provide the highest standards in design and build. Every piece leaves our Montclair studio having been personally overseen from raw material to finished installation.

Founded in California
Manwarren Habitats is established, specializing in handcrafted artificial coral. The founding conviction: color built into the material, never painted on.
First major zoo installation
Our first large-scale zoological rockscape is completed, expanding the studio's work beyond aquariums into the broader zoological world.
AZA membership & rapid growth
Manwarren joins the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The catalog grows to over 400 coral specimens as word spreads across the zoological community.
International reach
Installations begin appearing in aquariums and zoos across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The coral catalog grows past 600 unique specimens.
800+ piece catalog
The coral catalog surpasses 800 unique, handcrafted pieces. Private residential and hospitality commissions grow alongside institutional work.

Manwarren relocates its fabrication studio to Montclair, California. Four decades in, we remain the industry's most trusted name in artificial coral and zoological habitat fabrication.
